Carbon dioxide is the most widespread gas as a shielding gas in process of machine welding of carbon and low-alloyed steel. But CO2 which is used in welding process has both indisputable advantages and significant drawbacks which limit its involvement in production process of metal frameworks for significant purposes. Also it isn’t used when finished goods are supposed to be certified by international certification authorities. The disadvantages of using carbon dioxide are the following: great loss of electrode metal for splashing, welded items’ surface obstruction by welded splashes, low quality of welding seams, unsatisfactory indicators of metal characteristics.
 
 
 
Сварочные смесиThe share of argon based shielding gases in welding in developed countries is 95%. Domestic and foreign experience proved that the best way to modernize machine welding is to use argon based shielding gases instead of CO2.

 

The problem of increasing efficiency of welding and quality of welding seams can be solved by means of changing the composition of gas.

Gas mixture CO2+Ar (Specification 2114-002-00153318-02 with volume ratio of 8%)
Gas mixture CO2+Ar (Specification 2114-002-00153318-02 with volume ratio of 15%).
Gas mixture CO2+Ar (Specification 2114-002-00153318-02 with volume ratio of 20%).
Gas mixture CO2+Ar (Specification 2114-002-00153318-02 with volume ratio of 25%).

Using argon based welding mixture instead of traditional carbon dioxide will contribute to significant improvement of welding quality without modernization of equipment.
